Multiple OS
Find out which Operating Systems you can actually run on your server.
An Operating System is the low-level software that controls a PC. It handles the way your hardware behaves, the communication with peripherals like a monitor, a printer or a keyboard, the allocation of memory between various applications, along with the prioritization of apps if several run at once. Each and every program that is installed on a computer system functions by sending requests to the OS for different services by using an application program interface (API). The contact with the OS can be done through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) or a command line. In the Internet hosting world, the OS is what commands a web hosting server along with all of the software installed on it, which includes not only website scripts, but, in addition every other application such as a VOIP or a game server. When there're virtual machines created, they employ a guest OS which runs on the server host OS.

Multiple OS in VPS Hosting
In case you decide to purchase one of our
virtual private server plans, you will be able to select one of the three Linux distributions which we offer for the Operating System of the servers - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're among the most well-known and most stable server OSs available and we offer them in order to give you a choice for the software environment of your machine in case that you intend to install some application with specific requirements in terms of the packages that should be present on the web hosting server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one of them you could use depends on the OS that you have selected. We leave the option to change the server Operating System open, so when you want to use software that requires an OS different from the one you already have, we can always re-install the VPS. We can also keep the OS up-to-date on a weekly basis by installing all the security updates which may be released.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Web Hosting
We offer three Operating Systems with our
dedicated server solutions - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they're absolutely free and they won't increase the cost of your new server, but also because they are exceptionally stable and secure. Each of them is supported by a huge community of web developers, so you'll be given the option to choose from countless software packages that you may install on your server if the app that you want to use has specific requirements. The Operating System will also determine what internet hosting Control Panel you can use since the Control Panels that we offer are compatible with particular OSs only and since we want to give you as much flexibility as possible, we offer multiple OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you get a server with a certain OS, we will change it upon request in case it turns out that you will need alternative one. We will also keep your OS updated on a weekly basis as part of our additional Managed Services upgrade.
